About the Lady
Behind the Quill...
I'm first and foremost a dog mom to my beautiful pup Bella. (Yes she is seven years young and still and always will be a pup to me!) She has always been a source of comfort and stability in my chronic pain journey. I'll give her credit - she will always lick away the endless supply of salty tears off my cheeks when I'm upset.
I like to refer to myself as a part-time mermaid, especially since I have a love for aquatic life and have always felt at home in the water. I cherish any time I get to spend by the sea - especially since I live in a landlocked state! Hot baths are one of the few comforts I have when my hip is causing me pain (aka 24/7). This means one of my favorite evening activities is to soak in the hot water and read until my water gets cold...but I have been known to empty the cold and refill the tub for more relaxation time!
Reading is another escape for me, and you're likely to always find me with a book on me. I even have a paperback in my purse when I leave the house! Used book hunting is a favorite pastime of mine - if my hip allows me to look at the shelves from top to bottom! I've been known to hunker down for a very long time in the solstice of quiet, book-lined shelves, and search for my next favorite author. One day I hope to have my own little private library in my home, a nice relaxing sanctuary for when I need to shift my mind to something other than the nagging pain in my hip.

Every summer it was my own personal tradition to reread the Harry Potter series. I felt myself escape to the Wizarding World each year, and now I revisit it even more frequently. I am a true, blue (well yellow and black) Hufflepuff at heart. Loyal. kind....and as shown in the Fantastic Beasts franchise - a lover of all creatures big and small. I like to think we all have a little magic in ourselves, some just know how to use it more strongly than others.
So let's see - I'm a dog mom, part-time mermaid, and Hufflepuff who loves the fall and anything pumpkin-related (let the basic girl have her kicks ok?). I'm also a huge fan of the Florida dwelling Mouse! Sometimes you just need to put on a tiara or Mouse ears and lose yourself in the magic and wonder of childhood. When I'm having a particularly bad pain day, I find comfort in the silly ol' bear, Winnie the Pooh.
I hope this brings some light to the Lady behind the quill!
Swimmingly yours,
